Description

Cherry pie, with its irresistible combination of tart fruit and buttery crust, holds a special place in the world of desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Fresh or Frozen cherries, pitted
1 cup Sugar
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tbsp Cornstarch
½ tsp almond extract
¼ tsp Ground cinnamon
1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
2 pie crusts

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 425°F and prepare a pie dish by lightly greasing it.
2.Combine the cherries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, and almond extract in a mixing bowl. Stir until the cherries are well coated.
3.Roll out one pie crust and fit it into the prepared pie dish.
4.Pour the cherry mixture into the crust and dot with small pieces of butter.
5.Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Crimp the edges to seal and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
6.Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
7.Allow the pie to cool slightly before serving, and enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
